Police divers to search river after car found submerged

Police have recovered the car found submerged in Kaituna River overnight but there is still no sign of its occupants.

Police were called to reports of a crash at 11.03 last night on Ford Rd, near Maketu where a car was found submerged in the water.

A police spokesman said the number and location of any occupants was still unknown.

The police dive squad would continue their search.
