One person is trapped after a crash near Te Puke. PHOTO/GEORGE NOVAK

One person is trapped after a car versus truck collision on the Te Puke Highway, just past the Bell Rd turn off to Te Puke.

A police spokesperson said they were called about 3.20pm, with the trapped person believed to have moderate injuries.

The road is closed between Domain Rd roundabout and Welcome Bay Rd, with traffic being diverted through Welcome Bay Rd.

The spokesperson said the Serious Crash Unit will be in attendance.

Called around 3.20 a car verses truck on Te puke highway just past Papamoa turn off.
