A person was critically injured following a crash in Tauranga overnight.

Emergency services were called to a collision between a pedestrian and a vehicle at 9.10pm.

A police spokesperson said the incident happened at the intersection of Pyes Pa Rd near Marshall Ave.

“Pyes Pa Rd was closed while the Serious Crash Unit examined the scene,” the spokesperson said.

An ambulance and a rapid response unit attended the crash, a spokesperson from Hato Hone St John said.
