A pedestrian struck by a car in Te Puke has been taken in Tauranga Hospital with critical injuries. Photo / File

A pedestrian has suffered critical injuries after being struck by a car in Te Puke.

A police spokeswoman said police were alerted to the collision in Lenihan Dr at 4.25pm today.

The pedestrian was taken to Tauranga Hospital in a critical condition.

Police were still to speak to the driver of the vehicle and were investigating.
