One of Mount Maunganui's walking tracks will be temporarily closed to allow for maintenance.

Mauao's Oruahine track will be closed for around two weeks from April 9.

All other tracks will remain open. Access to the summit will be available via the Waikorire track.

Signage and barriers will be in place, and security will be on-site during working hours.

On April 11, 12 a helicopter will fly overhead to deliver aggregate to the track. A loading zone will be located in a paddock on the Marine Parade side of the mountain. However, there will be no additional track closures during this time.
