The Paradox: Tauranga Street Art Festival is a finalist in two categories at the New Zealand Event Awards.
The festival, held from March 28, 2017 - June 15, 2017, was developed by the council in partnership with Oi YOU! and Tauranga Art Gallery.
It is in the running for the New Zealand Events Association's best regional event of the year, up against the likes of the Farmers Auckland Santa Parade, Wellington Jazz Festival and Winetopia.

The other finalists in that category were Vertical Pursuit 2017 and Pop-up Globe Auckland.
Meanwhile, Tauranga City Council is a finalist in a new category for the best arts or cultural event sponsorship of the year, for Paradox's Oi YOU! Collection.
The council was in competition with Anthony Harper for Pop-up Globe and ASB for the Auckland Lantern Festival.
Paradox was also eligible for the award for New Zealand's favourite event, which will be decided by a public vote that will open next week.
The winners will be announced at the Event Awards Evening on 11th October at SKYCITY in Auckland.
