Drivers who travelled along State Highway 33 near Paengaroa on Friday night are being asked the check their vehicles for any fresh damage.

Rotorua man Aterea Moke, 29, died in a crash about 8.50pm that night. Police have said initial investigations indicated a second vehicle may have inadvertently and unknowingly struck Mr Moke after he came off of his motorcycle.

Police have this morning asked if anyone could help with the ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash, or who might have been travelling in the area at the time and found fresh damage to their vehicle, to contact Sergeant Wayne Hunter at Tauranga police on 07 577 4300.
