The match between Rosehill and Otumoetai could be considered a traditional fixture as the two colleges have played each other regularly over the last five to six years, Bay of Plenty Rugby Union said.

"Although the match is not part of the Baywide Competition the two teams contest each other yearly in the July school holidays.

"Sky TV, keen to promote secondary school co-ed rugby, heard about the successful season Otumoetai College 1st XV had in 2013, being unbeated in Division One, and from this they were interested in televising this match at the college.

Jamie Davis, Otumoetai College 1st Xv Head Coach, said this year the team were rebuilding and we have a young team.

"Its been an impressive season so far, and the college team has been able to test all the top teams in Division One.

"Although we have lost more games than we have won we are a tough team defensively and our attacking ability is improving.

"We beat Opotiki last week and narrowly lost 27 - 24 to Trident College. Trident beat Rosehill 30 - 12 in the Chiefs competition so we hope to be successful on saturday 12th July."

Rosehill College beat Otumoetai College last time we meet in 2012.
