One person seriously injured after crash between bike and car

One person is seriously injured after a collision on the Te Puke Highway early this morning.

A vehicle crashed into a ditch heading east just before Collins Lane and colliding with a push bike.

The rider has been transported to hospital following the crash but the driver and occupants of the car are uninjured.

Police were called to the scene at 4.49am.

St John spokeswoman confirmed one ambulance was sent to the scene who then transferred one person to Tauranga Hospital in a serious condition.
