The exact cause of fire which ripped through a Welcome Bay home this morning resulting in injuries to one person is still to be determined.
Northern Fire Service Communications shift manager Carren Larking said the single-storey home on the corner of Victory Street and Cumberland Crescent was well involved when fire crews from Greerton and Tauranga stations arrived.
A 111 call was received by the Fire Service at 5.18am, she said.
Ms Larking said firefighters were still at the scene assisting two Fire Service safety investigators who were working to establish what caused the fire.
One person was treated at the scene by St John Ambulance staff for status three [minor] injuries, she said.
