Police have confirmed a motorcyclist has died after a two-vehicle crash on Number 3 Rd near Te Puke.

A police spokesperson earlier said that the crash happened at about 11.30 am on March 5 between a motorcycle and a vehicle.

Number 3 Rd was closed between Atuaroa Ave and Macloughlin Drive and traffic diversions were put in place.

Sadly the motorcyclist died at the scene, the spokesperson said later this afternoon.

The Serious Crash Unit was investigating the exact circumstances of the crash.
