An oil spill on Cameron Rd prompted the immediate closure of a busy
stretch of road in Tauranga's CBD yesterday.

Fire crews were on the scene between Elizabeth St and Hamilton St and motorists were diverted down surrounding roads as both north and south-bound lanes were

closed.

The road reopened at 1.30pm and Tauranga City Council said nothing from the spill entered the stormwater network.
