The NZ Transport Agency is making a small change to the Maungatapu roundabout traffic trial.

From tomorrowtraffic lights at the State Highway 29A Turret Rd on-ramp will be covered to allow free flow onto Turret Rd - and towards Maungatapu or Baypark - for traffic coming from the Tauriko/Ohauiti/Hairini direction.

Citybound traffic from Maungatapu and Baypark will continue to be directed to Turret Rd via the underpass.

The Hairini St exit onto Turret Rd will remain a bus-only lane.

The agency reported the trial was going well and initial observations showed that the overall network was benefiting.

The 10-day trial, in operation from 6am to 10am each day, is due to finish on Friday.

It was a joint venture between the agency and the Tauranga City Council.
