The New Zealand Kiwifruit Growers Institute has announced the appointment of Nikki Johnson as their new chief executive officer.

Nikki will assume responsibilities on 11 April 2016 and will succeed Mike Chapman, who stepped down to take on the role of chief executive officer for Horticulture NZ.

NZKGI chairman Doug Brown said this was an exciting opportunity for NZKGI to bring on board Miss Johnson's energy and passion for the horticulture industry and to support NZKGI's strategic direction.

Ms Johnson has managed NZ Citrus Growers Inc. for over ten years transitioning the industry from a voluntary grower organisation to a professional organisation with sustainable, compulsory levy funding and a strategic approach to investment of grower funds.
