Raiha Ensor won her first event of the season in the under-17 girls division.

Mount Maunganui surfers have flown the flag proudly at the Billabong Grom Series at Auckland's Piha Beach.

The final leg of the series was blessed with up to two-metre waves, making for some spectacular action across a host of age divisions.

Raiha Ensor (Mnt) continued her recent charge with a well-deserved win in the under-17 girls division. She missed the final in the opening event of the series, but had no such problems on her way to compiling a 9.27 point heat total in the Piha final. The win, along with a second-placed finish in the second event at Whangamata, was good enough for Ensor to claim second place on the three-stop tour behind Jasmine Smith (Gis).

Kea Smith (Mnt) finished the event in third place ahead of Milly Crewe in fourth.

Kehu Butler (Mnt) completed a sweep of wins in the under-14 boys division with a typically strong performance. He proved unstoppable on his way to a 12.77 point heat total in the final to beat Ririnui brothers, Lee and James, of Mount Maunganui.

Elin Tawharu (Mnt) also made it a clean sweep in the under-14 girls division.

The newly named national representative ousted Smith (Mnt) from the win at the final event. Smith's commitment was enough to secure second place.
