A motorcyclist suffered serious injuries after falling off their bike on State Highway 2 in Pukehina.
The crash happened about 3pm on Saturday, police said in a statement.
A St John spokeswoman said two ambulances were sent to the scene and one patient was taken to Tauranga Hospital in serious
condition.
A section of SH2 between Waitahanui Lane and Otamarakau Valley Rd was closed and traffic control was in place but the road has since been reopened.
