Police have released the name of the two men who died in a road crash in Paengaroa, near Te Puke.
Bismon Xavier, aged 30, and Minoj Haridas, aged 31, were both from Kerala in India but had been living in Rotorua at the time of the crash on December 28.
The fully-laden blue car had been travelling down Wilson Rd and turned southbound on to SH2 about 8am when it was in a collision with the northbound truck, carrying milk product.
The truck and the car collided and the car was dragged along the highway for about another 100m before both vehicles came to a stop.
The driver of the car died at the scene.
The police investigation into the crash at the intersection of State Highway 2 and Wilson Road is continuing.
