Masked woman armed with knife robs foodmarket in Welcome Bay, Tauranga

Police are investigating an aggravated robbery of the Welcome Bay Foodmarket last night.

A police spokeswoman said police were called to the shop on Welcome Bay Rd at 6.30pm.

"It was reported a female wearing dark clothing and a black mask entered the food market and took an amount of money and cigarettes."

The woman was armed with a knife.
