Man sustains facial injuries in assault on Fraser St, Tauranga

The man has been taken to hospital, police say

A man has been taken to hospital with injuries to his face after he was assaulted in Tauranga this morning.

A police media spokeswoman said St John ambulance staff alerted police to a man on Fraser St who appeared to have been assaulted.

The man had injuries to his face and was taken to Tauranga Hospital, the spokeswoman said.

Police searched the area for the offender and were speaking to the victim.
