The Omokoroa fire brigade was called out to a man who had put a nail through his hand using a nail gun yesterday.

Volunteers waited until the Katikati brigade arrived before pulling out the nail, which had gone through the hand to lodge in wood.

"It was more of an embarrassment than anything else," Omokoroa's deputy chief fire officer Simon Priest said, describing the situation the man found himself in.

The man was treated for the injury to his hand. The accident happened at an Omokoroa Rd address at 4.47pm.
