Man killed in Wairakei crash named as Colin Stephenson, 59

The man who died after a crash last week at Wairakei Terraces in Taupō has been named as Katikati man Colin Stephenson.

He was 59-years-old.

The crash happened about 2:15pm last Friday between a car and a motorcycle near the intersection of Wairakei Drive and Wairakei Rd.

The Serious Crash Unit examined the scene and police will investigate the cause of the crash.

Police extends its sympathies to his family and friends at this time.
