A Tauranga man has been arrested today in relation to two aggravated robberies in the Bay of Plenty this week.

The man, 29, has been charged with aggravated robbery and burglary in relation to Tuesday's armed robbery at McSwiggan's Irish Pub on Cambridge Rd, and an armed robbery at Mo's Bar and Casino in Rotorua on Sunday.

The man is appearing in Tauranga District Court this afternoon.

Rotorua police made the arrest in Tauranga this morning, after CIB staff and the Rotorua Armed Offenders Squad searched a number of Tauranga addresses under warrants.

Enquiries into this matter are ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact the Rotorua police on 07 3480099.
