A logging truck has rolled on State Highway 2 at one of Tauranga's busiest intersections.

The stretch of highway in Bethlehem at Moffat Rd has been partially closed to traffic as emergency services and contractors clear the scene.

A police spokesman said a number of logs had rolled across the westbound side of the highway, between Moffat Rd and Parau Drive.

The crash forced the closure of both lanes but northbound traffic was now moving again, the New Zealand Transport Agency said.

Southbound traffic was being diverted down Te Paeroa Rd to Carmichael Rd then Bethlehem Rd back onto SH2.

It is understood the driver has not been hurt.
