A logging truck and car has crashed on one of Tauranga's busiest arterial routes.

Police are responding to the collision near 15th Ave, at the Tamatea Arikinui Drive/Cambridge Rd off ramp.

A police spokeswoman said officers were en route to the crash and it was not known if anyone was injured.

The call came in at 7.22am.

Western Bay of Plenty head of road policing Senior Sergeant Ian Campion said the driver of the loggin truck spoke with the driver of the car at the scene before leaving to continue his delivery to the port.
