No room for mobility cars
In regards to mobility cars on Matapihi Rail Bridge: I run across that bridge many times and in my opinion, there is no room for that car and walkers and runners and cyclists.
He should just bite the bullet and drive the long way aroundlike all the other cars.
I cannot see him giving way to other users on the bridge as it is pretty tight for space when you get on the wooden spaces.
In regards to the proposed long line fishing bylaw: Here we go again. The council now perceives recreational kontiki fishers as a threat or nuisance to other beach users (News, July 4).
This is despite contrary evidence Tony Kinzett said he had heard from various interest groups including the Papamoa Surf Life Saving Club, St John Ambulance, and police.
Yet our dear council propose to impose restrictions upon these law-abiding citizens. Ye gods!
Hasn't the council got better things to do? Instead of dreaming up perceived problems, in my opinion, the council would be better employed getting on with addressing the city's poor planning and infrastructure problems that are already more than apparent.
