Hill will headline the two-day festival and organisers say next year's Raggamuffin will feature more international acts than past festivals mixed in with the best homegrown talent.
Organisers say festival-goers are guaranteed a ``mind-blowing'' experience. In addition to securing some of the
world's biggest artists, Raggamuffin has signed more than 12 international acts, chasing some of the sizzling new artists as well as the legends.
New Zealand festival director Jackie Sanders said the Raggamuffin 2013 line-up would be the biggest.
``We wanted to expand the festival's horizons and present a taste of what's current and hot right now,'' Ms Sanders
said.
``It is exciting to be bringing the greatest line-up we've ever had to Rotorua in 2013.''
Hill has been Raggamuffin's most requested artist by the fans. She first performed at the festival in 2010 and
returns to headline Raggamuffin 2013.
Hill established a reputation in the music world as the lone female member of The Fugees, whose record sales would make them the second biggest selling R&B act worldwide since Michael Jackson.
She launched her solo career with the release of the commercially successful and critically acclaimed album, The
Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. The recording sold more than 19 million copies and earned a record breaking five
Grammy Awards.
When Hill last performed at Raggamuffin, local All Blacks at the time Liam Messam and Tanerau Latimer
presented the hip hop star a piece of New Zealand to take home with her - an All Blacks jersey.
Messam and Latimer met Hill after her 2010 performance at Raggamuffin.
The pair gifted the jersey and posed for photographs with the singer, who at the time said she'd have worn the jersey on stage if she'd received it before her set.
Tickets for Raggamuffin 2013 will go on sale at 9am tomorrow through Ticketmaster.
