A tale of diversity played out with the help of magical puppets comes to Tauranga on May 1.
Puppets, actors, original projection design and catchy songs all help to tell the tale of Kiwi Moon - about a little white kiwi's journey of self discovery.
The children's show is basedon Gavin Bishop's picture book of the same name about a little kiwi who thinks the moon might be his mother because it is white and bright and round like him.
Kiwi Moon is a "deceptively simple story "that speaks of diversity and how being different has an impact on our community and relationships".
Children will embark on a journey through the forest floor to hula with huhu grubs, watch out for the wekas and calypso with the handsome kakapo.
The show is staged by Capital E which specialises in educational stage shows.
Producer Marianne Taylor says it will encourages children to think about the role nature plays in New Zealand and "to reflect on caring for the environment and all living things".
The production is perfect for school children aged 2-7 years and is touring the country from April to November.
