Calling all doe-eyed tiny tots with precious smiles, the Baby of the Year competition has kicked off for 2015.

Entries are open for parents to submit the cutest photos of their children, under the age of two, to the annual competition in hopes their child could be crowned.

Bay of Plenty Times classified sales manager Tara Childs said last year's competition was inundated with pictures.

"We can't wait to see what images we get in this year. Last year all the cute and cheeky smiles and the doe-eyed looks we got were awesome."

Ms Childs said the competition was a good opportunity to get creative with a camera and practice to get that perfect shot of your little one.
