A new, water-based children's aqua play session is being launched at Mt Maunganui Hot Salt Water Pools today.
Soak n Splash is aimed at preschoolers and their caregivers having fun together in the pools at a set time each week.
Mount Hot Pools manager Matthew Strange says Soak n Splashwill provide a great opportunity for parents and their preschoolers to get together at the same time each week to enjoy water play together.
The parents get to soak, while their children splash and gain water confidence.
"It's the casual, fun, aquatic version of the very popular land-based Tumble Time," he says.
"It is really important for children to engage with water at an early age to start gaining water confidence and ability, especially in the New Zealand environment, so we hope this programme will provide that in a fun way," Matthew says.
Soak n Splash will be held on Thursdays from 10am until noon.
- Soak n Splash has a discounted entry into the hot pools of $8 for one adult and one preschooler; an additional preschooler (maximum two per adult) is $2. A further 20 per cent discounted entry is also offered to families who attend Tumble Time or Gym Gility in the same week.
