Tauranga's Midlands Intercity hockey teams had a poor weekend, with none of the five teams coming away with the winner's points.
An Amy Robinson double was not enough to stop Otumoetai women being held to a 2-2 draw away from home by Rotorua Aces, while CMS Mount withstood plenty of
early pressure from Thames Valley to escape the Tauranga Hockey Centre with a 1-1 draw courtesy of an Alana Lloyd strike.
The men fared less well, with Tauranga Old Boys the only side to claim a point following goals to Phil Garner, Robert Juhnke and Daniel Elyashiv during their 3-3 draw with Pukekohe Indians.
CMS Mount and Otumoetai lost 1-2 to Onewhero Pukekohe and Rotorua Aces respectively.
