Metservice reports that some heavy rain can be expected in the Bay of Plenty this afternoon.
An active front currently to the west of the North Island will spread a band of heavy and perhaps thundery rain into the Western Bay of Plenty during the afternoon.
It could bring a periodof heavy downpours and frequent lightning.
The heavy and thundery weather will slowly clear away tonight.
This weekend and Mother's day look mostly/fine/dry with highs 17/18C.
