Plenty of people embraced the nostalgia of a bygone era in Greerton at the weekend.

The Greerton Village Vintage & Retro Fayre was held at Greerton Village School on Saturday, offering a time warp back to yesteryear with themed live music, pop-up vintage stalls and classic cars on display.

Greerton Village manager Sally Benning said the day went "really well".

"I was happy with the day. There were a lot of people and lots of people dressed up. We had 20 ladies in the best-dressed competition."

Benning said she was yet to speak with retailers but a competition which saw shoppers entered into a draw for a trip to Australia's Gold Coast that morning resulted in many people perusing the shops.

"There were a lot of entries for that competition," Benning said.

"That's a good sign."

Benning said the day was a success.
