Grammy Award-winning music legend Dionne Warwick will perform in Tauranga in November as part of the first of a series of concerts planned for Baypark.
The five-time Grammy Award winner and music icon, whose illustrious musical career spans more than five decades, has released a long list of hits including I Say a Little Prayer, That's What Friends are For, Don't Make Me Over, I'll Never Fall in Love Again and A House is Not a Home to name a few. She received her first Grammy Award in 1968 for the track Do You Know the Way to San Jose.
Warwick is due to perform at the ASB Baypark Arena on November 11 - the day after she is due to perform in Christchurch.
ASB Baypark business development manager Gillian Houser was excited to have secured Warwick as the first of the Baypark Concert Series, which was a new initiative aiming to bring even more entertainment options to Tauranga, targeting a specific age demographic across a range of genres.
She said the series would be ongoing and they were excied to announce even more acts in the near future.
The New Zealand dates follow an Australian tour from November 2 to 9 visiting Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and the Gold Coast.
In her career, Warwick has had 75 hit singles, sold more than 100 million records and worked with international superstars Elton John, Stevie Wonder, Gladys Knight and Burt Bacharach.
