The scores were as scorching as the autumn sun at the Tauranga Golf Club during the 2014 Junior Tiger Championships Bay of Plenty regional qualifier.
Promising junior players on Sunday were spilt into four divisions - aged 11 and under and from 12-14-years-old for boys and girls - with the
younger competitors playing from special "Tiger Tees" and the 12-14-years-olds battling it out from the yellow tees.
The regional qualifiers are the first qualifying stage for children to earn their way to the final to be staged at the Manawatu Golf Club on Sunday, April 27.
The leading four players from the winner categories go into the draw for the chance to represent New Zealand at the World Junior Golf Championship and visit Disneyland accompanied by one of their family members.
The Junior Tiger series, which was introduced in 2009, is a New Zealand Golf initiative designed to promote the game to young people as an affordable and accessible sport.
