Garden and Art Festival opening night celebration

More than 200 people came out to celebrate the 10th Bay of Plenty Garden and Arts Festival which begins tomorrow. For four days festival-goers will be treated to 64 different locations on the garden and art trail between Te Puke and Katikati.

At the Festival Hub in The Lakes people toasted the success of the festival and wandered around the art and horticultural exhibitions based at the hub.

First up tomorrow miniature garden competition entries will go on display at Palmer's Bethlehem and landscape designer Tony Murrell will hold his first workshop in the evening.

Also tomorrow will be the home-grown produce swap, from 10am to 2pm in Tauranga's Red Square.
