Fuel tanker crash blocks lane on Hewletts Rd

A fuel tanker is blocking a lane after hitting a lamp post on Hewletts Rd.

A police spokesman said the incident was reported at 1pm and one lane of Hewletts Rd was blocked.

Fire and Emergency shift manager Lauren Sika said two fire crews were in attendance.

“We’ve got a heavy rescue regarding the petrol tanker involved.”

Both spokespeople said no injuries were reported.

Sika said there was no reported spillage or power outages; however, Powerco had responded.
