Free Wi-Fi internet is being set up throughout Tauranga's central business district through a partnership between Mainstreet Tauranga and local service provider EOL.
Downtown locations such as the Goddard Centre and The Strand have already been progressively linked into free public internet provided by EOL.
Now local businesses will beoffered discreet booster repeater equipment installed on their premises for free, said EOL managing director Terry Coles.
"Establishing a comprehensive public Wi-Fi network will allow people to connect to the internet using their smart phones or other devices whenever they visit Tauranga's CBD," Mr Coles said.
