A two-storey house in Waihī Beach has been destroyed in a fire this morning.
Fire and Emergency NZ received a call to attend the fire on Edinburgh St around 5am.
Northern shift manager Josh Pennefather said firefighters arrived to find the house, measuring 20m by 10m, “well involved” in fire.
He said the fire was under control around 6am.
Everyone was accounted for and there were no reports of injury, he said.
Mayor View Volunteer Fire Brigade chief fire officer, Paul Tucker, said two trucks from Mayor View Brigade and two from Waihī attended the fire.
Tucker said the cause of the fire was unknown.
Pennefather said fire investigators were now on site to start investigations to determine the cause of the fire.
