His second was pure class. He faked a free kick from the centre circle before having the ball slipped into his path and going on his way. A jinking run took him past multiple defenders to the edge of the area, where his curling right-foot shot found a home in the righthand corner of Claudelands' net.
His third came towards the end of the half from the right side of the box. He faked a pair of shots before chopping on to his right foot and beating the goalkeeper from an acute angle.
The improving Josh Nelson scored a brace in the second half to go with Cooper's fourth, putting an exclamation mark on the Blues' campaign.
His first was magic - a first-time volley from outside the box that looked good from the moment it left his boot.
All that left time for was for a few players to attempt to pick up their first goal of the season.
Will Clague went close twice - once in causing a deflection that led to Cooper's fourth and the other time in following up a penalty he won that Sam Nahna failed to convert.
Blues coach Duncan Lowry was beaming following a home campaign in which his side scored 46 goals and conceded only four.
"It was nice to go in at halftime at 3-0 up. It took the pressure off us and it was party time from the second half in," he said. He added that the players had gelled with the fortnightly travel to Auckland.
