Bay of Plenty clubs in the promotion race fared well during the latest round of matches, with Tauranga City United and AFC Fury's top teams both solidifying their places at the top of their respective standings.

The Blues' 7-0 romp over Warkworth AFC took them to 30 competition points - six points clear of fourth place Waiuku AFC in a league in which the top three teams win promotion.

The result improved Tauranga City's claim to the Northern Region Division Two's best goal differential; their 43 goals for and 10 against puts the side eight goals clear of second-placed Forrest Hill Milford.

AFC Fury extended their margin at the top of Federation One with a routine 5-0 win over Otumoetai Football Club.

Goals to Connor Irvine, Dave Molloy, Federico Gomez, Lee Garnham and Simon Stafford-Bush, combined with Tauranga City United's second side drawing with Taupo AFC 1-1, mean the Fury sit six points clear and are almost certainly assured of another trip to the promotion playoff.
