UPDATED: 5.41PM: A man has been airlifted to hospital after receiving burns when a boat and trailer caught fire opposite Gull Paengaroa.

A reporter at the scene said the fire was out but the boat was completely gutted.

Firefighters and police were still at the scene.

EARLIER: Fire fighters and St Jonh are responding to fire call out beside the Paengaroa service station.

It is believed a boat and a trailer are on fire and one person is injured with burns.
