Denim is a key item for wardrobes around New Zealand and a favourite fashion item of mine; I love a great pair of jeans!

This season denim has never been so much fun, with a variety of shapes, colours and styles to go crazy on.

The cropped flare
My favourite
look for this season's denim trend is the cropped flare. This is a take on the original flare but is made accessible for everyone by bringing up the hem so it sits above the ankle. With a frayed edge it pairs perfectly with sneakers, flats or heels. It's a winner and a must for all fashionistas' winter wardrobes. This looks great teamed with a T-shirt or jersey for a casual look, or dressed up with a shirt.

Skinny, distressed
Now don't think you need to go chucking out all your favourite skinnies - they are still a must for your winter wardrobe. This season sees skinny denim worn quite light and bleached with rips on the knees and thighs, giving them a rock 'n roll feel.

The 'French boyfriend'
While boyfriend jeans are still super-cool there is a new boyfriend in town - one I like to describe as 'the French boyfriend'. Slightly slimmer than the original boyfriend style, this jean is chic and elegant and can be worn on the hip or slightly higher-waisted.

The lighter side
With the blue jean taking a much lighter approach this season, white is now also a huge trend - it's not just for summer. Either worn skinny with rips, cropped or in the French boyfriend style, there are lots of great options for winter.

WIDE LEG DENIM
For denim on the cutting-edge of fashion, go for the wide leg option. This style is super comfortable, as it is meant to be worn a little loose. So there are a few of my denim options this season. Denim is exciting, it's big and it's a great option for our New Zealand winter!
