There will be delays on State Highway 29 tonight as contractors remove a truck that rolled this morning, seriously injuring one person.

Emergency services were called to the Tauriko crash near the new roundabout at Redwood Lane about 10.10am.

The NZ Transport Agency said the highway would be under stop/go management on either side of the roundabout between 7pm and midnight.

Specialist contractors would remove the truck.

The speed limit would be reduced to 30km/h and NZTA advised road users to expect minor delays.

Access to Redwood Lane would be maintained, with “short delays”.

Earlier, a Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman said the truck was on its side and a small diesel spill was reported.

Three crews went to the scene and the driver of the truck was removed using a ladder, he said.

A police spokesman said the occupant had moderate injuries.

A Hato Hone St John spokesman said one person was taken to Tauranga Hospital in a serious condition.
