On Saturday morning while glued to the TV, I was filled with pride. It was a celebration of all things English - Paul McCartney, Rowan Atkinson as Mr Bean and Daniel Craig as James Bond.
Despite feeling a bit behind watching the delayed coverage on Prime, I'm glad I had the opportunity to watch it at all.
I only decided to watch the opening ceremony after scrolling through my Twitter feed and seeing countless tweets.
My TV was then stuck on Prime all day, watching highlights and waiting for the live coverage.
I almost couldn't believe it when I decided to sleep in the lounge, waking up every couple of hours to make sure I knew what was happening.
Even in the morning when I was meant to be getting ready for work, I was glued to the TV.
I am now planning the events which I want to watch, just so I don't miss anything.
I have said I am supporting the New Zealand athletes, but in the events where there is no New Zealander taking part my allegiance will switch back to Great Britain.
I can imagine the next few weeks will be filled with sleepless nights as I let Olympic fever take over.
