Bethlehem Baptist Church becomes the Easter Journey this weekend.

EASTER JOURNEY

Revisit the Easter story at Bethlehem Baptist Church's popular, reflective walk-through 2015 Easter Journey exhibition.

The visually impressive 2015 Easter Journey is open to the public until April 6 and features a multi-sensory exhibition depicting Christ's early life, ministry, death and resurrection.

Bethlehem Baptist Church (BBC) has been running the exhibition annually for nearly 15 years. It started as a small exhibition for the congregation but grew each year.

The contemplative exhibition includes detailed props and backdrops, life size mannequins and actors role-playing various scenes. It includes other Bible stories as well.

Each year close to 300 members help to transform BBC into the Easter Journey.

Communications co-ordinator Luisa Schroder says the aim is to show a biblical history that presents the Easter message in a relevant way, "so we are doing that through multi media".

"We also hope the Easter Journey will help people understand why we have this holiday."

Parental guidance is recommended for under-12s, and there is one area specifically PG15. There is a colouring-in competition, activities and puppet show for children (see www.easterjourney.co.nz).

Easter Journey 2015 is open from 3-9pm today, 9-6pm April 3-5, 9am-12pm on April 6.
