A Tauranga driver has been left injured with whiplash after a person crashed into their vehicle and fled the scene.
The person had been travelling in a car when they were hit from behind by another motorist at the intersection of State Highway 2 and SH29a at the Te Maunga
roundabout.
A police spokeswoman said officers were called just before 2pm and were talking with the injured driver at the scene, who said the motorist who crashed into them did not stop and do not check to see if they were okay.
The car fled the scene, she said.
The spokeswoman said the victim was not seriously hurt but suffered whiplash in the collision.
