Tauranga City Council is holding a by-election in April for one at large position on the council.

Nominations for candidates in the upcoming by-election are now open and close at noon on Monday, March 5. Prospective candidates are urged not to leave applying or nominating a potential candidate until the
last minute.

To find out more about the role of the council and what it is like to be a city councillor, the council is holding a candidate information session on February 19 from 5.30pm in the council chambers on Willow St.

No pre-registration is required and prospective candidates are welcome to turn up on the day.

People are encouraged to ensure they are enrolled to cast their vote.
Property owners in Tauranga who live outside of the area are also eligible to vote online at www.elections.org.nz
