Monica McGarva's husband told her she didn't need any more clothes but that did not stop her raiding the stalls for bargains at the indulge Outlet sale on Saturday at ASB Arena.

The registered nurse and piano teacher from Bethlehem had already purchased a top from George Edward at a "bargain" just half an hour into the sale, which had shoppers queuing at the entrance when the doors opened at 10am.

The indulge outlet sale, in association with Aspire Health and Sports, featured fashion clothing and accessories, sports, fitness and homeware brands at huge discounts.

"We're not looking for anything in particular, just keen to catch a few bargains and enjoy a day out."

A crowd gathered at Wendy's Boutique stalls where Kathryn Wilson and Zoe Kratzmann designer shoes were reduced to $70, a saving of more than $250. Hannah Simister from Wendy's Boutique said it was a great way to offer clients the opportunity to own gorgeous labels.

"We did the sale last year too and it is good exposure for our brand to reach more people and show people what Wendy's is all about."

A Zumba performance led by Aspire group fitness instructor Rachael Tata saw a few shoppers enjoy some fun fitness.

Aspire manager Ruth Barber said the sale was an opportunity for the gym to support local women and encourage an active lifestyle.

"It's just a happy buzz here and it's a great opportunity to be a part of that. It's about supporting local women," she said.

Mrs McGarva said the outlet sale was the third indulge event she had attended that week, having attended the indulge Speaker Collective in association with Craigs Investment Partners on Wednesday - which she said was "inspirational and informative". On Friday night she had attended the indulge Bay Model show in association with Blur Eyecare.
