A person was taken to hospital with critical injuries after a single-vehicle crash in Waihī.

A police spokeswoman said the crash, on Wilson Rd in Waihi Beach, was reported about 4.30pm yesterday.

It appeared a vehicle went through a fence, she said.

A St John spokesman said one person with critical injuries was taken to Waikato Hospital by ambulance.
