Eves Realty Greerton received some consolation for last season's crushing Williams Cup final loss when they defeated City Sports Bar Te Puke in round two of the Baywide Cup on Saturday.

Batting first, Greerton posted an competitive total on the artificial surface, when dismissed for 207 at Pemberton Park.

Bay player Cam Neal reached 49, with Brett Hampton blasting a handy 34. While Blair Parlane posted a gritty 25 runs, he was the only Te Puke batsman to reach the twenties, with the visitors being removed for just 91.

Dan Spencer took four wickets at a cost of just 5 runs, with the Brett Hampton and Tommy Clout doing the damage with the ball at the start of the Te Puke turn at bat.

Element IMF Cadets grabbed a winning draw, in the 106 over contest with Whakatane United, in a match where over 500 runs were scored.

Batting first Cadets posted 301/6 with new recruit Tom Boorman top-scoring with 85, while ND all-rounder Jono Boult chipped in with a half century.

Led by an unbeaten 57 from David Brent, who has come from Zimbabwe to attend the Ben Williams Cricket Academy, the Eastern Bay side reached 203/7 when the match finished late in the day.

A second BWCA new recruit in Joe Barrett from England reached 32 before he was dismissed. Morgan Bidois was the best of the Cadets bowlers returning 2/29.

Tauranga Boys' College won a low scoring tussle with BOP Indians at Nicholson Field. The Rotorua visitors batted first and were dismissed for 121, with Jayvant Dhanjee top scoring with 25. Harrison Perry and Sean Wakelin both bowled with enthusiasm to take three wickets each. While the Tauranga students got home for victory, they lost seven wickets on the way. A gritty 27 from Jonty Grigson led his team home to the winning points on offer.

Rotorua Central batted first at Blake Park against home side Carrus Mount Maunganui and mustered 193 all out. The Mount got home for the outright victory with five wickets in hand.
